Default twe???

got the sti headers, checked it out, and it seemed like to much of a pain in the ass to get to fit, so im selling them and go with the twe equal length, now i thought it would be a direct bolt on, but it doesnt seem they make any for my year(of course why would they), so im gonna post this thread to ask how much modification it would take to get these on, if any, because i do not feel like going through this again....

Turbo stuff is incredibly different hardware. I'm not sure how you figured anything would remotely work.

Just e-mail TWE about fitment. You're still on the older gen chassis, so I wouldn't expect much of a problem. Their 4-1 header is designed to bolt right up to the stock cat section. The TWE design is a compact design, so there had been clearance issues with changing parts of the oil pan and such through the years. I have no clue about the 2007 version. I think a quick e-mail or call to TWE could answer questions though.

Your other option is OBX, a lot cheaper price, cheaper build, but they're great bang for the buck. They are not designed to hook right up to your stock cat section but rather bypass it and hook up directly to the midpipe section after the cats. You would need a cat welded in after the header, either on the piece that contains the small resonator (just replace resonator with cat) or after if you want to keep the resonator.

Default hey

well sh$%, then what could i get for around 3-400 header wise, am i gonna have to go with the 97-05 rs headers and just modify them going into the exhaust, cuz it seems like thats the only other route besides just saving for some borlas or twe's

edit: wrote this so i didnt start another thread

Default got speed?

you looking for power or rumble?

if you want to sound like a vw punch buggy then go for the modified header or borla.

if you want real gains go for the obx or twe.

hey man modding your car is an expensive hobby and you will never make any money or increase the value of your car .

if you want to do it right it costs money though.

good luck .

just a side note, the TWE/borlas are all for 05 and previous fitment. it sounds like you might think the twe's will fit to 06/07 exhaust systems.

no i know there not a direct fit, but from what i understand all you have to do is adjust the position the flange is going to, i know it will bolt to the motor, but im not worried about that, just wanted to see if there was a cheaper way, but its cool ill save for it....thanks guys

I had twe's. I would get the OBX tbh. 90% of the quality for 40% of the price.

I have heard less than good things about OBX's build quality. TWE's, on the other hand, are almost art. Plus there could be some performance gains that the TWE's will make over the obx.

Pure numbers, they're about the same. What you're paying extra for is the build quality.
