Default Non turbo WRX motor?

If you don't run the turbo on the WRX motor what kind of power figures do you end up with?

Just a guess, but somewhere around 115-125 chp and simiar torque numbers.

Its almost a two point drop in compression numbers from a turbo motor vs. any of the 2.5L N/A motors, plus down half a liter in displacement.

True up until 06, but then whats the 2.5 look like?

Heres a better question. Who would want to take a motor built to take boost and make it n/a?

Yeah, I need the front LSD and that apparently only comes with the boosted motor.

The reason I don't want the boost is that this engine won't be in a Sube. It will be in a Locost (1200#) and I can run up to about 170hp but anything beyond that and the car would be more than a handful. At 170 hp you're talking a power to weight ratio of about 7lb/hp which is better than a Vette, Viper, turbo Porsche, etc.

Plus a boosted motor does funny things with the classifications when I'm on the track.

The simplest way is for me to buy a whole car to get all my bits, cause I'll need more than just the motor and tranny. So I may have to just buy a WRX and then remove the turbo. I didn't realize there was that much difference in compression ratio tho. That will lose quite a bit of torque.

Buy the whole car...then just drop higher compression pistons in with the money you sold the spare **** for...

You could always do supercharger. That'll give you the NA type of power delivery and throttle control. Then make whatever specific power numbers you want.

As for turbo->na, talk to carl s. (with the period) about running the turbo engine without boost. He's built a rally car for competition and per the rules and licensing is required to run na in awd to aquire enough points to step to forced induction in the awd category.
