Uh, no you wouldn't. MS3P is the only company that makes them now. For the past year, NOBODY has made them, since Borla stopped making them. Not to mention that the dual ports are copied by all kinds of foreign companies. Check out prices for Honda D-series headers. New ones are like $50-$100 because of stuff like this. Either way, these headers look and sound like they're a helluva lot better than the overpriced Borla junk.

Supers587 on RS25 is the manufacturer. He does great work and has GREAT customer service. I highly recommend buying them from him.

Or swap to dual port heads and save yourself $200 minus the cost of the heads.....

But seriously, those heads have to be the MOST unsupported of all subaru parts.

...yeah, I don't think the extra cost and work is worth it to me. lol

Dude, these ARE affordable compared to the Borlas.

Hey, maybe this new F&F will spawn copies and drop down prices for Scoob parts. :P

I thought I saw them on RS25 a while ago! Well then hell yeah, if they're the same, then I'm stoked.

Tip to know....EJ25 SOHC cams are a direct drop in for the phase II singleport EJ22 heads. The extra .030" intake lift is "noticable". I took mine out to stay all legal like.....but the phase II head is much better than the old dual port heads.

These headers are nice, and the guy selling them is trying to support the Subaru community. That's a rare thing to us no-turbo Subie owners......

This is false.

I've been making UEL single port headers for about one year now and have sold several sets.

UEL Header interest thread

I merely solicit my customers in a more personal way as I'm not really into the mass-production thing. That and I make one or two at a time for spare money when I need it.

I have two sets ready to go now with 2" primaries and 2.5" collectors. Also, the primary ports are size-matched to the OE Subaru gasket so if you want to open up the port on the head a little, you can.

I'd give you a price but then this would turn into a "for sale" ad and I'm not a vendor so I can't openly tell you how much they might cost but my PM inbox is far from full.

So the claim that the ebay ad makes about being the only source is unintentionally false. Maybe I'll make 5 more and toss em up on eBay.

I don't see it happening.

You're talking about a cylinder head design that was only used from 97-01. This means that a company is dealing with less than half of the USDM Subaru engines over a 5 year period on cars that have 100k miles on them or more and with a community that all too well knows just how compatible various engine parts are between engines and models. Basically, it's not really worth the R&D on a large scale and Borla only did it because they didn't know Subaru was going to scrap the single port head in 02 so they made a large run and sold headers until they were gone.

Basically, you can get a header made by taking your OE manifold to an exhaust shop and having them fab something up for you or you can buy one at a quasi-expensive (for a single header) price from hobbiests like MS3P and myself. Of the 4 headers I've sold, I'm still not close to making back my investment in tools to line myself up to make these headers (but that's my fault for only selling them casually).

I'm talking about a company, not a person. They're also selling them, not gauging interest.

I gauged interest 1.5 years ago. I sold my first one one year ago. Thus my point was that within the past year, somebody made them but that somebody wasn't very active in promoting them. Either way it's splitting hairs.

I'm not offended by the fact that few know of my efforts since it's up to me to promote them. You shouldn't be offended by me pointing out a simple inaccuracy since as far as you knew, you were right and once again, that's my fault for allowing publicity of my efforts to fall off. I posted on this one because I was setting up to do a run of headers and didn't want to be regarded as a copy cat of MS3P's efforts. That's also why I made it a point to display the fact that I was indeed beginning efforts as far back as I was. As far as I know, Borla did it first, I did it second, and MS3P did it third. MS3P is indeed the second company to offer headers while I am the only hobbiest to offer them. I have also custom made a header for one that was running a thicker swaybar and was concerned about clearance issues. I'm not sure if MS3P takes custom orders like that. My poroduct has different features than theirs do and I did make it a point to make note of them.

I sell my headers so I can further my personal Subaru hobby. MS3P sells them so they can make a living in general by offering a product in a retail environment.

I'm trying to work a bit with MS3P to make sure that we don't flood the market (as it is a small market) with our unique offerings. I haven't heard back from them yet but I only sent them an eBay message yesterday. Their offerings are fairly priced as are mine but you have to PM me to inquire.

The uniqueness of the single port headers is what drove me to make them. That and as covered, there was a lack of manufacturers out there making them.

Unless you're mating the single port heads to your 2.5i engine, I'm not in a position to help you. Aren't there NA dual port headers in production for your car that are relatively inexpensive?
