Thumbs up Imprezas: 4.5 litres and 8 cylinders

BTW, it took 2 cars to acheive those numbers. There's a new Impreza in the family, a TS (for the mom). I have to give some serious shouts out to Allen and Adam at West Houston Subaru. The purchase was awesome, unbeleiveably so! It's actually a shame to simply refer to them as car salesmen. When that truck comes out (and when I can afford it), I'll be headed back for a 3rd purchase.

"The Truck" is called a Baja, it will be out in September roughly.

The Baja is essentially an Outback that has had the wagon portion chopped off and converted into a bed.

Thumbs down

The Baja is the most unbelieably ugly piece of shiat!!! The Azpuke and crapalanche are about the only thing tops it on the crapometer.

SOA took a reasonable concept car, STX supercharged 2.5 liter, good looking vehicle.......they then pretty much put the company who designed the supercharger out of business because they didn't want to follow through with the design right a way.....they also added ten tons of plastic body cladding to try and appeal to the mindless GM & chrysler buyers who buy the above mentioned POS's.

But hey....that's my opinion....and what do I know......

For those that haven't seen it..... www.subarubaja.com

I think GM's 10% ownership of FHI had a little bit a sway in the final design.....It looks remarcably like some other other vehicles on the road today........

That's the first time I saw the Bja page. It does look like a hacked up Outback wagon. The STX on this page http://www.geocities.com/drpkick/stx.htm look similar, but much better in my opinion. The vertical rear window and sft-sloping rear door window on the STX on this page give it more of a truck look than thing on the Baja page. The grill looks better as well as the fog lights and hood scoop.

definately loked the ST-X better...

Quote:
Letís start with the engine. The ST-X cradles a supercharged and intercooled 2.5-liter four-banger that chugs out 230 horsepower and 210 lb/ft of torque. Gearing is manual, with a five speed, dual-range tranny. Now as you may have noticed, gas prices are reaching the point where we may have to sell our women or get used to commuting on horseback. Can only speak for myself, but a strong four-cylinder plant looks mighty tempting right about now.

Quote:
A 230-horsepower supercharged/intercooled version of the Outback 2.5-liter "boxer" engine gives the ST-X impressive on-road performance. Full-time All-Wheel Drive, a dual-range 5-speed transmission and 8.5 inches of ground clearance give the ST-X true off-road capability.
^ outback engine?....how about the car named after the damn engine...THE 2.5RS!!!

Default 442

Hey, I didn't know there were two of us. I have a '72 442. Which by the way is for sale if you know anyone who might be interested. I love it when the V8 guys hollar "hey buy an american car" or some stupid ***** like that. Can you get anymore American than that? I dunno, but the 442 seems more like an American muscle car than a new mustang or camero to me. Anyhow, it is more fun beating them with the little 2.0. Bigger surprise that way. Have fun, Z
