Default V8 Front seat install

Hey,

so I installed some JDM STI V8 seats in the front and it was super easy.

One issue I ran into, lol so I unplugged obvious the airbag plugs on both sides as well as my heated seats and I suspect the last one on the driver side is the seat belt latch ?? but is that right, Ive searched everywhere and people seem to have the opposite issue.

My issue is the airbag light on the dash DOESN'T come on during startup, my seatbelt light goes out, but that's an 02 thing 6 seconds and it's off. But I don't get Airbag light up and stay on or go out, so is that related to the seatbelt latch detection or the side airbags.

looking for any info from anyone with an 02-03 that has done this?

Thanks

lol nope don't think so, since it worked before I pulled the seat.

is it not supposed to light and then go out on "normal" operation, I see everyone swapping to aftermarket seats and get the light ON, where as mine is off and everything under my seats are unplugged atm.

edit - if it's really off and the 2 front Airbags are working, can I have a dealer check to see if the SRS system (2 fronts is in fact working)? or does the airbags not activate if the seats belts aren't detected as being plugged in.

^ did you check the SRS fuse? It might burned when you swaped the seats... did you unplug the battery before you did that?...

I know it is a lot of work but maybe swap 1 seat back and check the airbag light?

nope why would I unplug the bat, affraid the SRS may go off in my face

ill check that, and ya I don't mind swapping them back, don't need to bolt it in just need to check it with the plug.

looks like it might be cause I didn't swap seatbelt receivers and wire in the seatbelt indicator portion on the drivers side, and Ive heard that if ecu doesn't see your seatbelt in it powers the SRS down a bit to protect against flying into it without your belt as my light is off which SHOULD indicate no issue, once I swap and plug that in hopefully ill get the light and then I can fix it the usual way.

figured it out, I swapped seats back and I swapped my old cluster in and turns out light is out in the JDM cluster, so I just need to do the resistor thingy and it's all good.
