Default JDM STi v7/v8 cyl head info needed

****UPDATE BELOW**** Post #5

This question is going to be a pain to understand without the back story, so here it is: I want some v7 or v8 JDM STi heads for my car. No one seems to have them. My uncle frequently works in Japan, and is there now. I'm trying to figure out how to describe to him what it is I need so that he can bring that info to a wrecker and get the parts. He is somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to cars, just not Subarus. I'm sure he can pull it off, I just need the correct info to give him.

I figure the wrecker will want to know the year/make/model, as they do here in the US. I'm not up to speed on the whole JDM parts/versions/years thing, so I need your help.

I'll tell him to ask for complete cylinder heads from a WRX STi, but I need the year info, as well as maybe any casting marks he could look for to confirm what they are.

What years constitute a v7?
What years constitute a v8?

Also, I'm told that the "v7 Spec C," and "v8" heads have the same ports, is this true? I'd like to find the "big ports" while I'm at it.

Thanks for the help! I'm new to all this.

It seems like the safest way for me to get what I want (seeing as I am buying these by proxy) is to narrow down what years/codes are for "v8" heads and ask for those.

EDIT TO ADD: It sucks that all the photo links are broken. I'd be able to send him actual pictures of what I need.

EDIT TO ADD 2: In case anyone is looking, here is a nice chart with more info...

UPDATE!!!

My uncle found some heads with the part numbers: RH 11039AB660, and its LH counterpart. The Subaru dealer said they are for an '04 STi Spec C.

My question, can anyone search to see what exactly that part number entails? Is that a bare head, or a complete head assy?

They want the equivalent of $680USD for each side, so I am assuming it is a bare head.

yeah those are V8 heads, so big port
as for what's inside - ask your unkle to look, but @ $700 per side that would better have everything in them!... that price honestly sucks for Japan, they can be found for less than that for PAIR on auctions

That price is new from a Subaru dealer. Hes looking for a 'junk' yard now.

oh then they must be empty... and then the price is reasonable
btw, are those the complete part numbers that Subaru uses that you posted?

I would look in junk, I am sure he will find some... just make sure they don't have any cracks!.. which is unlikely, but still

All the "junk" yards he has found so far only deal in exporting all the 3+yr old cars. I guess they don't bother to disassemble them when they can export them whole.
