I've gotten over 400 miles to a tank of gas, but it was on a Salt Lake to Laramie jaunt. The light was on but the tank only took about 15 gallons when I filled it up, averages out to around 27mpg.

Side note: I have gotten close to 50 highway miles with the light on and still had around a gallon left in the tank when I filled it up.

Cool. It's counterintuitive and backwards to get better mileage with a higher flowing fuel pump. But, pedal strategy again comes into play with mileage.

I used to achieve these kinds of numbers, but ever since I got new springs installed and new tires, my mileage has been crap!

i have 235/40/17 tires/wheels and Im wondering how that affects the mileage or the readings of the mileage

i know when im going 70mph for example, im really going 65 so i know the speedometer is off, but enough to affect my mileage?

I have done over 400 miles once, but I usually fill up at 1/4-1/8 of a tank. I have gotten up to 34mpg before with a Cobb CAI and catback on the stock 195 tires.

Can wrx's join the 400 mile club? I just went 411.7 and filled up with 14.3 gallons. The fuel light came on at 376.8 miles, and it was at 330 with 1/4 tank left; if anyone's curious. If not for this specific thread, I would've filled up lots sooner.

This was from just north of Knoxville, TN coming back to Lafayette, IN. I was really surprised because it was mountain driving with some boost on several upslopes going 65-75 mph depending on the rainfall, and then 80-82 mph in the bluegrass from just south of Lexington to Louisville. Once I got into Indiana I finally used the cruise control and set it at 74. Also, I had either the AC or defrost on the entire time which would've kept the AC kicked in. And the final kicker was two full throtte, full boost jaunts- one in third to about 75 mph merging with traffic on a short ramp, and another from 68 to just over 100 mph in fifth going around a line of cars following one idiot that wouldn't get over. I know high speed passing on the right is frowned upon, but this guy was varying his speed from 65 to 75 and stayed in the left lane for several miles; even when there was absolutely nothing in the right lane. I call those people "campers", and they are one of my absolute pet peeves along with people that think "you are"=your...

Oh, and I also have a Walbro 255 and some 700cc'ish modded injectors...

I get around 32 MPG almost every tank. Works out to a little over 400 miles on every tank. I do my fair share of Highway driving though.

I got 436 at 83mph once on a trip home from California. But the car was MT, literally! It sputered and quit running on the highway. After we rolled to a stop I tried to start it again and it ran long enough to find a gas station. Not sure why but it did.

Moral of the story. If your going to drive through Salt Lake City. I highly suggest you buy gas on either end because its not like you can just jump off the highway and find a gas station anywhere. You have to drive way off the highway. At least unless you know the city at all.
