Question So, did anyone want to admit to owning an SRT-4?

I was thinking about my next big mistake once the 540i is sold and for some reason I thought about this car for a half second or so, mostly because I want to get something cheap.

I mean, on paper and in reviews it sounds like a fun car. Loads of power, LSD after the first year, cheap, probably cheap to fix too. Hell, Mark Daddio has owned five or six Dodge Neons so they can't be all bad.

I just ehhh well would probably never buy one. I'd probably just buy a Legacy/Outback wagon for practicality and frugality.

So, can you drive one of these without being an asshat? Because when I search the forum all I find are people complaining about SRT-4 drivers acting like asshats.

Aside from hafing the wrong/not enough drive wheels, I have no issue with them, and I thionk they're a really good bang for the buck car. I have not owned one, but it's pretty high on the list of random cars I have an interest in.

Owned one. I liked it. Only reason I sold it was because I wanted a WRX wagon more for camping and snowboarding. My roommate still owns his ACR edition, and still loves it.

Added weight of window motors would slow it down! A necessary sacrifice!

you know, since ford's reliability > dodge's?

I do have a FWD problem. I don't like it at all.

That's the thing. It's sort of randomly interesting for a second and then I think again and it's not.

Lots of people run the Neon as a cheap racer. I just never see the SRT-4.

I should probably just buy a Civic SI if I wanted to go that route.

It's on my list too along side another WRX. The SRT would def be the faster car, but I think i would be happier in the long run w/ the WRX. I haven't owned one, but I have a lot of hours of wheel time in a SRT-4 and I respect it for what it is.

Yeah, see that's probably why I shouldn't even bother considering since I drove the MS3 and didn't like the FWD thing. Lots of torque steer up in there. And that car is way more practical than the SRT-4 what with the wagon thing. Except I can probably get an SRT-4 for a lot less than a MS3.

No no, definitely not.

I am seeing used SRT-4s for less then 10k around here lately. Awfully tempting.

The other thing I wonder is how well these things hold up to abuse. I heard the engine setup was pretty bulletproof, but that may be untrue.
