I thought it was illegal to telemarket on cell phones in Canada.

Just switch carriers then. I don't get any calls from Telus and I haven't heard that from bell or Fido either.

Read your contract closely and see if they wrote in there that they can contact you regularly for marketing.

If not, you could try writing a letter outlining that you consider thier actions unacceptable and if they don't stop within a reasonable amount of time you will cancel your contract with them without the contract penalty. If it it doesn't stop, give a second and third written notice (send by registered mail if you have to). They would probably stop making the calls, because if it ended up in small claims, judges don't like corps that pick on the little guy.

Call their retentions line and complain to them. Maybe you can squeeze some free credits from them if your paying $100+ a month

Yeah . . then you get whopped with another 20% interest on that 50%

The only way to pay off a credit card is in full . . on time
Otherwise you might as well drop your pants and bend over to save them the trouble

If it's a boy just tell them they have a cute voice and whether they would like to come over for a quickie. Put on uber gay voice...you may end up with a telemarketing dude at your house (although I am pretty sure they are based NOT in Vancouver) or you will get a quick hang up and a mark on your name warning other callers.

I've had one number call me a few times over the last week, but haven't had a call for a few days since I just let their call ring...

Message: "Hi, this is Lisa from Credit Card Services. This is our third attempt to contact you. Our records indicate that you're paying too much interest on your credit card. We have a limited time offer that would allow you to cut your interest payments in half. To take advantage of this offer, Press 1. To be removed, Press 3."

Yes. I get those calls too. And so does my buddy at work. They are quite gay.

I've been getting calls almost daily, telling me to call back a number (that doesn't work) cause it's really important, or asking me to press 1 to claim my prize...
