Thumbs up Sharkbait stimulates the economy!

I'm sure soon to be followed by "Sharkbait loses her job in a giant twist of irony." But whatever. Mum and I went to Chicago this weekend and had a blast! We ate, drank and shopped our way through the city! Am I going all Chris619 with photos? Hell yeah. Why? Because I'm obnoxious today.

Yay!

Sleeping! Our hotel and view.

(only my mum straightens the bed in a nice hotel.)

The view from our room.

Eating and Drinkin'!

Dinner at MK - fabulous meal! One of the best I've had. http://www.mkchicago.com/

I had roast berkshire tenderloin, morel mushrooms, asparagus, cream, lemon thyme. Mum had chicken naturally raised and roasted, white asparagus, artichokes, fava beans preserved lemon, sorrel. And we shared pommes frites with truffle cream. Our desserts were cake & shake
layers of buttermilk chocolate cake, milk chocolate mousse, bittersweet chocolate pave, chocolate meringue buttercream and a vanilla malted milkshake and carrot cake (kinda) ginger cream cheese sorbet, vanilla-carrot puree brown sugar meringue, white chocolate carrot puffs brown butter powder.

Ghiradelli Sundaes!

Booze and shopping and more eating to come!

More booze!

Shopping!

Love this…go into the Burberry store. Get immediately profiled, and given champagne. Yes, I got suckered in.

And it was Mother’s Day, so we did Brunch at the hotel. Oontz. Holy crap, it was amazing. Sushi stations, prime rib, lamb, breakfasts, root beer floats, fancy desserts and salads. It was phenomenal.

Chicago in the spring! Such a blast!

The irony of it all – The airline lost the luggage with all of my purchases in it. But, it showed up this morning. Yay!

Chris619, baby!

You're stimulating more than the economy with that picture of you in the robe.

That's the pic I take everytime we stay in one of those hotels, it's sort of an inside joke. They always bring you a little plate of food after you check in.

Ironically, despite living downtown chicago, and running along the lakefront every other day, I have yet to do the whole "shopping" thing downtown.

I guess that is a tourist thing.

The pics look great and I'm glad to hear you had a good time!

Did your accent return thicker than that robe?

I had a GF who became incomprehensible when she was talking to her parents...

Rich has to go get my luggage from the airport today. They lost the bag with all of my new purchases in it. I nearly freaked last night when it didn't come off the belt.

But, they called this morning! Thankfully!
