Default Is there anything I can do?

I just got my SSR GT2's repaired and was really excited. However, I had to replace one of the tires because it got badly damaged.

What I didn't know is that Subaru recommends the tires to be within 2/32 of each other in tread depth. I believe there is 4/32 of a difference between the brand new tire and the old tires.

Well then I thought "hmmm, I have heard of tire shaving... perhaps that would be a good way to match tread depth" but a search of the SWIC forum reveals that no one will shave a "used" tire. This tire has driven about 5 miles, is it still too late to shave it? Also, does anyone know of a location that shaves tires?

Thanks,

Adam

yep they wont shave once it's been on the ground. if there's any dirt, pebble, debri in the treads, it will ruin the shaver. i have mine shaved from toyos only in phx.

Clean and scrub the hell out of the tire. I'm pretty sure you can rub 5 miles of crap off. It's worth a try.

I just called Toyos Only and he said he can probably still shave it.
