Default STi factory head gasket specs?

I am curious on what the factory STi headgaskets measure at in the bore? I know factory bore size is 99.5mm but I am more interested in if these will work with a 102mm bore? I know they arent made for them and I know of many 100mm setups with them so is there enough room to squeeze over the 102mm.. Thanks..

I know cometic sells thier gaskets to fit but I have heard better experiences with the factory gaskets...

I think the bore on stock sti gskts is 101mm.you will need to run cometics if you have a 102mm bore.

So my question is, will the .5mm overhang be an issue in the bore? As long as the comp ring is on the sleeves? .5mm = about .020"

I'm pretty sure the stock headgaskets are more like 100mm, but then again I have not seen one of those for such a long time. Pick one up from the dealer and measure it.

Why don't you want to run Cometic's which you can custom order with any bore size and thickness? I have a set of 102mm / 0.051" sitting in my garage right now which I was going to use if I bored to 101.5mm for some custom pistons I have. No issues with Cometic's with me.

A small overhang as you describe I think is fine, a bigger overhang is just asking for failure

you really do not want any of the gskt to hang into the bore because itwill cause a hot spot which will promote detonation.

Ya, you probably dont remember but you tuned this car about 2 years ago LOL. Anyway I have the BC 2.71L with the 102mm bore and I will probably just get the cometics like you have and probably that thickness too. Where is a good place to get them? Tim will be tunning the car as he did my gt35 tune last time.
