Default Shim Underbucket Conversion on EJ207? Cams?

Ok Boys and Girls, here's my question:

I am about to do my EJ207 build. The engine has full forged internals and is mated to machined 205 heads with JDM valves and double springs. So far it looks like this:
  • Jdm Sti V7 2.0
  • Pauter Rods
  • CP Pistons
  • V7 crank
  • Machined WRX heads
  • Sti Jdm valves
  • Double springs

Do I need to do a shim conversion to run a higher redline and cams. Can safely hit 8500rpm on this with the stock WRX cams? Let me know!

Anyone? I would like to hit 8500 without doing the cams and shims but if I have to do them I will. Eventually, the goal is to hit 400whp, but if I can get 360 without this conversion I will hold off until I do the bigger turbo. Thanks guys!

no stay shimless, if you break a shim you will tear up your motor, they come shimless for a reason

That's good enough for me.

What about more aggressive cams?

There is no way stock cams will do anything after about 6500. Unless your on the bottle.

How do people feel about Brian Crower cams? I've read mixed reviews. Anyone have a set they absolutely love? I know Cosworth, BC, Crower, and a few others make them. I'm looking at BC and Crower, Cosworth is a bit rich for my requirements. Opinions?
