I just got my new ECUTEK Delta Dash ecu monitor hardware and software, and it is phenominal. It seems to have all the functionality of the Subaru Select monitor, while reading data MUCH faster! You can read all the Subaru specific data like front a/f sensor voltage, injector pulse width, EGT, knock correction, etc. You can data log all variables at rates exceeding 10/second, and the output graphing is very user friendly and readable. One 10 minute run and I know more about how my car is functioning than I have since the day I bought it. It's a bit pricey, but given the data that's available, and compared to the competition, it is a true bargain. The ECUTEK people are a pleasure to do business with, as well. VERY highly recommended.
Their website, for those who haven't heard of them already, is: ECUTEK Mark

My god, did you notice that it will allow you to alter ignition timing? Can you tell us what kind of granularity it gives? This is really quite impressive.
take care, rob |

PERFECT for test and tune days at the track when your computers being a bitch and pulling your timing. (like me last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Until I get my new management system going, this will help with the stock ECU timing BS. Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com |

Where does it plug in on your car? I've got a different ECU and it's not hooked up to the diagnostics port. Hopefully they can talk to my ECU. WRX STi IV V.4.

I just emailed them to determine the granularity of it. I hope it's more than a single value, but who knows
What I like is that it's IN the ecu, not on a piggy back, so it won't learn around it.And Jorge, you have mail ![]() |

I think it plugs into your OBD port. He says sampling rate is 20 milliseconds...

Here is an update on the timing control (and their ecu). I have already contacted them about the serial reprogrammer for our shop when it becomes available. So there may be an ECU reprogramming option for those in Florida/Georgia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rob Thank you for your enquiry. We offer a limited adjustment of the ignition timing across the whole ignition maps. This is just a compensation for poor fuel or to act as a trim if when logging the car using DeltaDash you pick up some det. We are working on being able to serially re-program the ECU via the diagnostic port but this will be a major piece of software allowing access to all ECU parameters (and there are a lot of them!!) The DeltaDash is available as a single car license for 209 GB Pounds including shipping. It is a very powerful piece of software and comes complete with cables and interface. The single car license means you can access the one car you choose from our list (probably the 2002 WRX and then you can read any 2002WRX on any laptop, not just your car, as long as you use the software protection dongle. You supply the laptop! Please look at the web site for further information. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information Regards David Power ***************************** EcuTeK 8 Union Buildings Wallingford Road Uxbridge UB8 2FR ENGLAND Tel: (+44) 01895 811200 Fax: (+44) 01895 811611 sales@ecutek.com www.ecutek.com ***************************** |

Just curious... how do you go about converting voltage to actual numbers? For instance how do you convert voltage of your front 02 sensor to an a/f ratio?

fastburro - Sounds like you are going to be the answer man until more people get these things installed.
Have you looked into the timing adjustment aspect ? How does this connect to the ECU ? Pulling info from the factory EGT sensor ? THis is the one in the uppipe correct ? If so that's kind of far up isn't it ? And most importantly...how long did it take you to get it ? ![]() |

So should I be as excited about this as I am ?
Question about the timing, I downloaded the demo and it let's you adjust 5 degrees. Since that is the only variable in that window are we to assume it's 5 degrees across the board at all RPM and it's retard only ? So it uses all factory sensors but can collect data at a very high speed for a more detailed resolution. In the future it could possibly be used to reprogram the ECU. Does it capture Subaru specific data that Alex Pepper's currently does not ? Just trying to get all the info. possible, I already have Alex's scanner, this appears to be a "gather more granular data" version ? |

As I see in the demo, it looks like you don't get a reading of knock but of knock correction. I wish we could see the voltage the sensor sends to the ECU...
