I thought the record belonged to Nathan K with a 12.3@110. They say I'm making wild claims.

uh, well no, its not a wild claim.

making power is not a hard thing to do, with any motor. they all work the same.

its pointless arguing with people about such things.

So as far as anyone knows, the 12.3 is still the fastest 2002+ WRX 1/4 mile recorded so far? Not saying there isn't faster cars now, but that actually ran and have a slip.

I said I could walk any 2002+ WRX pretty easily, and some people don't believe it. Not to be offensive to WRX owners, as I love WRXs and know what they are capable of.

I would hope so. My friends '95 talon will walk all over me too. He also has $8k worth of mods to the engine & drivetrain. Give it 1 or 2 more years and 11 sec WRX's will be as common as DSM's.
Nice time BTW

He was asking about the US, but yea I thing a gy by the name of Rigoli has run low 10's actually. I'm sure if you do a search there is a link to the video of it.,,

Nathan isn't my friend? Geez, this is a nice arguement.

Lets see, we did his exhaust, pulleys, ... all in my garage. He took me to lunch last week, we talk nearly daily.

Yep, he is my mortal enemy. We are destined to battle. The day I get my car running, his car blows its HG because it feared the talon

Well 12.3 is the fastest known on this site, that doesn't mean that its the fastest in the US. Also you do know that Nathan was makeing more power just before the HG thing than when he ran the 12.3.

Still, when are you going to roswell next?

I don't think Nathan's car is maxed out either. Phil ran a 12.4 with the stock intercooler and a street turbo..we will see 11 second wrx really soon.

Aren't there some guys in So Cal running mid 11's already? In 02 WRXs? I saw this on another thread... argh wish I could recall their crews name. But I do remember they had a bad rep I think they were using NO2 among other things...

Nick,
For the record you are my friend... but hey my car is scared, and thats why i am moving away.

As for the timeslip record... I still have the fastest one. I hope that we fix that this weekend with phil's car.

Reaction time of .689 ?!?

I'm sure I can't do better, but it looks like he was busy adjusting the boost controller on the line jk!

Yeah I bet in a year from now DSMers will need another $5k in mods to keep up with us.

Reaction time has nothing to do ith ET's....

As far as DSm'ers needing to keep up with us? it will never happen, sorry to say........they are WAY ahead of the curve, and overall, teh DSM's happen to be better cars (1G's at least...2G's are another (sad) story....

most of the ls1.com people are both japanese car haters and 4 cylinder haters, so any attempt to come anywhere close to times that their domestic V8s can acheive is almost an insult.

and yes, mitsubishi engines are very strong, but this is a subaru forum so can't we just pretend that they don't exist?

I think I am going to remember this post for the next 5 years. Damn, it is really early to say something like this even for those who do know a TON about both of these cars. I'm not saying you're wrong, but to say it will "NEVER" happen......seems a little off to me Plus, "better" is all subjective in the end anyway.......don't get me wrong, WRXs have a LONG time to get to that point, but considering the rest of the world isn't even big into drag (and that's what we're talking about here) and here in the US we thrive on it..........it wouldn't surprise me to see the WRX at that level just as easily down the road
