Default I don't drive a Legacy... yet :)

Hey all,

Just got done with another long day. Gonna be hitting the hay shortly before another day at work tomorrow, but I figured I'd share some of my thoughts with you guys.

Dunno why... but more and more, it seems like I want to get a Subaru Legacy sometime in the future more than I want to buy a WRX. At first, it seems like a bad idea - a 165hp N/A powerplant up against 227 2.0L turbocharged horses. No contest, right?

I want to buy a used 97 legacy gt (with front lip spoiler) and drop a turbo i it. What kinds of prices can I expect to encounter in a 2 year time frame?

What kinds of wacky paintjobs have you guys painted on your Legacy cars? I like a stock, slightly stickered-up look myself... with a custom exhaust, of course. I don't know, I have a hard time messing around with such a well-sculpted car.

Take care all...

1994 legacy wagon

Subarus have good resale values, price will vary depending on what part of the country your in. I wanted a WRX too, untill I found my 94 Legacy turbo wagon. As far as custom paint and whatnot, I think most of us leave the paint pretty much stock. What kind of stickers are you talking about? Hopefully you are not talking about a rice look. You shold go to Off Topic to see what everyone here thinks of the rice look. But yeah, deffinantly go with the Legacy. They are good looking, comfy, great handling cars. Why not get more for the money?

To be honest, once you dip into the more aerodynamic '96, '97 Legacy GT models with the front and back spoilers, there's not really any need to do much more with the bodywork... it's simply a work of art...

I'm not talking about popping a Type-R sticker onto a legacy when I mean the stickered look... but I still remember the way Subiegal's old Legacy looked with the Subaru logo going down the side. But if not... then I want a Legacy 2.5GT with a B4 turbo, enough exhaust and engine mods to help the car breathe easy, and to have the car in either a red, green, or black color.

Pretty much only the M5 would start to approach the kind of hidden power that finished Legacy could have. That Subie would just look sooo cool. And it could pull off that kind of look with stock wheels too. Think of the money saved on a body kit... you could turn right around and use that for stabilizer bars or a Prodrive brake kit (if it would work). I don't know if I would go with coilovers at all... after all, I want this thing to handle well in the dry and in the powder.
