Default Coolant temp up but oil temp is the same?

I'm at work guys, haven't had a chance to look around but...
I was headed to lunch and looked down to see my engine temp was quite high (prob 2/3). I was like wtf? So i turned on the heater and that brought it down to something manageable, and took it easy until i got to lunch. never peaked out, never overheated. oil temp stayed steady at just over 70c (lamco) the whole time and climbed the usual amount once i got into town and traffic.
Turning off the heater would raise the temp some.
Driving harder would obviously raise the temp.
Taking it easy would almost keep it at it's usual temp.
Oil temp stayed at it's normal temps the whole time.

So what gives? I'm going out of town this weekend so I need to knock this out tomorrow hopefully. No new modifications, stageII for a while now. I'm hoping it's simple like the thermostat or a minor coolant leak from a hose or something.

Possible thermostat, more likely head gasket issue. Check and see if any coolant is in your oil (change oil) or oil in your coolant (radiator).
