Impreza WRX STi .: Impreza 2009 sedan , suspension and driving wheel are not well !?? any help ?? ::.

i bought Subaru Impreza 2009 Sedan 1500 c.c M/T
it still new only 3600 km ..
i own Impreza 1600c.c 2004 too.
-
the suspension of the new 2009 Impreza isn't good like the 2004 one
i heared the 2009 built on the Legacy 2004 suspension !? which is Soft suspension .. the 2009 impreza is very comfortable on straight roads but on corners i feel the car lighter and less handling compared to 2004 Impreza
-
the 2004 Impreza is tough and hard suspension but it's more stable
-
in the 2009 impreza i feel everything while driving off-roads .. i think the suspension is softer more than needed ...
-
i hear that 2008 WRX owners had the same problem and SUBARU fixed this in the 2009 WRX and made the suspension harder
-----------
any help ? how to fix this in my 2009 Impreza .. can the authorised dealer do this for me ..? or i'd better do this outside the dealer
-

-
also the driving wheel vibrate while driving off-roads .. in my 04 Impreza nothing felt and it's very strong off-roads ?!?!
------------
please advise me ,, is that normal in 2009 models or my car have something ?!?!?!
\------------
( sorry for my bad english )

Due Im pretty sure Subaru did not intend for base model Impreza to be taken off road for hard driving of course you are gonna feel every bump what did you expect? yes the straight liine stability is better and you will feel the roll of the car in the turn again what would you expect if you a take a hair pin turn at 80mph? You have a prefectly fine car just one that doesnt respond well when you drive like a maniac Get used to the new suspension setup or swap it out b/c Subaru def will not revise the Impreza at this point

just get a rear sway bar for 200-300 bucks.

and don't expect the dealer to do anything

thnx " GEE-OTTO "and thnx " jeonster " for your replies ..
-
i asked Subaru service center and they told me .
- " yes , if you own 2004 Impreza you will find it more stable on corners and harder suspension on ruined roads " but the 2009 Impreza is more comfortable on normal roads " and they confirmed that the 2009 Impreza uses the 2004 legacy suspension with minimal configurations " ---
----------
-
don't know why Subaru didn't make a new suspension for Impreza 2009 1,5R and 2.0R ..
any way i will adapt this ..
-
the only thing i was afraid of that they used bad materials in suspension less quality than 2004 Impreza ..

Dear Subaru,

I was enthusiastic to read the history of the 1999 - 2005 Impreza RS and the balls out sport goodies it came with. Then I heard about the thumbing down of the goodies starting 2008. My 08 2.5i feels like a nice econo box, but has been stripped of it’s RS predecessor sports feel. Please bring back the RS package for the 2.5 NA. I am a die hard 4 banger NA enthusiast that has to suffer with the excessive body roll.

Recommendations:

2009 WRX Suspension & Rear Sway Bar. Option: RS

What’s likely to happen:

I have to buy KW V3 Coilovers to have my RS fix.

I think the 06-07 2.5i was the last to share alot of the wrx component parts but I sure love my 06 2.5i and it handles awesome sure I have megan racing coilovers and whiteline strut bracing and endlinks and bushings lol but beside all the aftermarket parts it is still pretty capable off road also..the new models seem to be econo box's for sure. Trade it in and get something older like the 2004 for you talk so much about and use the extra cash for parts or a just get an older wrx...

thanks man .. my brother own Impreza 2004 TS 1,6 lt.
-
and i own 2009 Impreza Sedan , i don't think i will sell my new car as i will loss a lot of money ( impreza resale value isn't good here in Egypt ) i think i will adapt the new situation and upgrade some parts a year or 2 years later
-
may be start with
1-rear bar
2-17' Wrx rim
-
-
then later on
3-WRX suspension
4- 2,5 GT Impreza engine
5- STi wings
---------------
at last .
i agree with you 100% that the 2007 was the last Impreza share WRX in many parts ....

If you plan on staying on street tires, you could skip out on the rear sway bar and just tighten up the rears (adjustable coilovers) to create more oversteer (in general). At least my plan is to just change out to KW V3ís in the near future and just forget about the rear swaybar (unless I canít get the adjustments on the coilovers to have the car behave the way I want it to).
