Default Are the 03 and 04 engine the same ?

I have a 04 WRX with the 2.0 and the engine is blown. Local junk yard has an 03 with 50,000 miles for $3,000

Can anyone tell me if the 03 and 04 is the same engine ?
Thanks

Yah that's pricey for just a motor. You could rebuild your engine w/nice parts for half that.
