Need a helmet for NASA

Im looking to buy a hemet, and because im in prescott, they dont have any shops that sell car rated snell helmets, so i need to drive down to phoenix next friday and pick one up before the may 2nd event. I need to know a good shop to go to.

Im looking at a full face helmet, is there any reason i shouldnt get one since my car has functional air bags? i have heard that if the air bags go off and you are wearing full face, it will break your face, but i have no conformation of that.

I used my motorcycle helmet. It's a HJC branded one that was affordable for me

do they not care about which snell rating it is?

perfectly fine to use a motorcycle helmet. you don't need an auto snell rating really, until you get into time trials and race group. open face is better with airbags for sure. i got my first open face for the track at ridenow.

i owuld rather only buy one helmet and use it for a few years. i would like to get the right one the first time. nobody knows where i can get one?

Have you tried an online search for something local? I knew a few places that stocked them, like my simpson that i bought locally, but they are all out of business.

Im not sure who might have auto rated helmets in stock now. i used a motorcycle helmet the first two years i did events.

As for something like simpson, bell etc. you really need to try them on for perfect fit as they all have different shapes.

ooh just remembered one! UPR racing used to stock nice helmets. They are on rural rd.
