Damm Aem come up with a stand alone the utilizes the stock Obd port . I know my Cobb unit is good but I would like to maximize my tune . And with the current administration I think a lot of loopholes are going to close soon .

I understand nothing about ECU's, but would it be possible to leave your stock ECU installed, but not managing the motor and flash it with some opensource map that has all the codes turned off/parameters opened up so that it throws no codes and use that for emissions while you use the aftermarket ECU for engine management? I guess I don't understand how the aftermarket units work... do they piggy back the stocker or are they stand alone meaning they do not require interaction with the stock ECU? Just a thought I was curious about. |

^I've thought the same thing. But I'm not 100%, hell not even 10% sure how they work so I have no idea.
But thats what you need. A standalone. Problem solved. You can tune around it haha |

That's good John because I have never heard of a standalone that will pass emissions. Just remember that since you have a 2007 car you will not have to worry about it until 2012 anyway..
