you can use a piece of dental floss and saw through it and pour wd-40 while sawing(disolves the glue)

or you can use a hair dryer and heat them upa nd pry them off.

since its an 05 you may want o get some kind of polish and buff it up when our done(there may be oxidation around the badges)

i've done it to four trunks and have found that the heat gun and prying with your hands works the best. make sure to wear gloves, it gets damn hot. then just use some goo gone to get the rest of the adhesive off then wax after that.

Fishing line works much better than dental floss. As mentioned, it does help to heat the badge up with a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting first.

3M also make a really good aerosol adhesive remover too - you can get it at Pep Boys and Murrays.

I heated mine up with a hair dryer and then ran fishing line behind it then heated the remaining adhesive up with the hair dryer so it would come off. Then I clayed and waxed the trunk.

I think you left a "C" shaped badge on the right....

The "SUBARU" letters came off pretty easy on my 02 WRX, had to do some polishing but nonetheless fairly easy. But my "WRX" badge was an absolutely PITA! Don't know why. Just make sure you have some good polish and a buffer to really clean it up afterwards.

Dental floss, bug and tar remover, a hairdryer, wax, and a buffer....that's all you need.

Oh and a lot of elbow grease

Did my OBS yesterday. All it took was a hot day in the sun and dental floss, though if I had thought of fishing line that would have been better. I used goo-gone and my fingernail for the remaning adhesive.

Personally, I felt better cutting them off, rather than prying them off.

A quick wash and a bit of wax and it was all good.

how this video makes it look easy, which would you use the bug tar or the wd40?

also my friend tried a hair dryer on his bmw and the paint the next day just started looking faded afterwards, i saw the vid use a hair gun but i just want to make sure hours later and days later the paint will still look good?
