Default Headunit advice?

Firstly is it true that when you buy a head unit and have it installed they can like tune your speakers with it or something to make everything sound better? and Secondly what headunits do you guys recomend? I am not looking for anything to crazy just something in the like 80-100 dollar range suggestions please! ( If you can be some what specific and send perhaps links of the head unit or at least what store sells it and the specific model) Thanks guys!

we have an audio section
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25

and you can tweak certain things like treble/bass/equalizers and stuff like that
but unless you get really expensive speakers that have their own filters/crossovers then its just basic things

an aftermarket deck generally produces a nicer sound than the stock one, unless they are way cheap ones

If you are just looking to get better sound over what you currently have using the buget you stated then I would recommend you spend all the money on new speakers, and maybe just the fronts only since you can't expect a lot for what you can spend on it. Your dollars spent will give you the best bang for the buck doing that. New electronics isn't going to help get you a better sound as much as replacing the speakers will. With high end systems, one speaker will cost more than twice your whole buget. If your current speakers are stock you will be pleasently surprised how much difference just better speakers will make and not have to spend a whole lot on them.

Well, I am not so much doing it for the over all performance of the speakers, Although if it does make a improvement that would be nice, I am just doing it to eliminate needing to bring my ipod and or 30 cd's with me, with a aftermarket head unit that can read mp3 cd's or w/e they are called I can put like 100 songs per cd which in theory i could just have one cd with me or 2-3 or w/e

I wondered if that was part of the equation. Recently another Soob owner got a new Pioneer unit from Crutchfield for a modest price and did the things you want to do. Like a 3.5mm socket for a MP3 player. If you can afford to replace the speakers also that will help get a lot better sound over your current stock setup. You can do that later though if you want, as money permits.

I see you have taken up this thead in the audio section. That is the better area for this. I think the moderator police will be by shortly. It may be time for a lock down.
