Default My poor subie :(

I got rear ended by someone not paying attention

The damage he did underneath.

Forced me into the car in front, the Blue Vue in the pic.

guy's insurance is paying for everything, including rental car while car's in shop.
His car was unfunctional as it had to be towed lolz, says he was going 15 an hr. I was able to make the 3 hr drive home.

wow, the cost of all that body dmg to get fixed is going to be outrageous. I know my gf got smacked in her little yaris, and just the front bumper/driver side wheel/quarter panel needed to be fixed and it came out to 8,000. Her car is only worth 17k!

Anyway, luckily the persons insurance will pick up the bill.

When you get your car back, take a look at all the framing and what not. Also, check to make sure your abs and air bag lights arent staying on (indicating a possible failure of some kind). body shops will fix.. the body.. but sometimes things internally get jostled around and there is a CEL thrown - of sorts - which could result in safety failures.

I know my gfs Airbag light was constantly on, signifying an issue.. unfortunately she didnt report it with in the 30 day period and is now left assuming her airbag systems are in check.. This could pose a serious safety issue.

(note: her airbags did NOT deploy when she was hit, so from someone looking at the car w/o turning it on - they would not assess airbag failures).

That may not buff out lol Like he said least he had insurance, but it still sucks since its a long process to get it new again (I know) Least you get a rental car to beat on for a few weeks. Hope things work out for you and there isnt TO MUCH stress

See Subaru! This is what happens when you make the Impreza look so generic. No one notices them, and then they get smashed into.

J/K

OP, sorry to hear about the accident.

Make sure the adjuster/quoting person sees the rear damage in the trunk with the interior paneling/carpet REMOVED. I was rear ended in a wagon once, and once the body shop saw the insides the quote doubled. Luckily I had the entire interior already removed. They will not check this ahead of time, and will probably not try to fix it if you don't point it out.

Nice to see the subaru held it's ground in such a situation. There will be some nice work done to repair it but I could imagine the person rear ended you going 20-25 miles braking into you? The rear-bumper did it's job and so did the hood folding in like that. Sorry for the accident but glad you're o.k

my brother was in the same exact situation in his girlfriend's car. He got hit at low speed and barely hit the person in front. It was no big deal all three cars involved had barely any damage. One and a half years later, the person in front of him is suing him.
