Default Fs: Il - Nib 07 Sti 6 Speed

Alright guys my loss (blown engine) is your gain (a brand new in box, never opened 07 sti 6-speed). Currently I have a 35r setup on my wrx with a jdm 6 speed, and revving all the way to 8000 rpms I still have to shift into 5th , so I saved my pennies for more than a year and bought my self a nice shiny 07 6 speed. Well I went to the track this weekend and blew my motor up (spun another rod bearing), and i'm completely broke because I just bought a 6-speed, so now I need to sell it so that I can afford the rebuild So it looks like my loss is your gain. Also I was told that Subaru has stopped selling the 07 gearsets/transmission so although there may be a few around the country at some dealership or warehouse, I have one of the lasts. Make me an offer, looking to get at least $4000 after paypal, no low balls please. Thanks.

Read the transmission FAQ in unibomber's manifesto. Also go to the Drivetrain technical forum and read the stickies. They will tell you everything you need to know about the gear ratios. There are also calculators available there to run through various setups and what they mean in your application.

Bump for a nice transmission.

I know this is the wrong place to ask but my understanding is to do the swap is the center and rear diffs. everything else should bolt up to my 07 wrx....?

Yea the final drive for the wrx is different than the sti. you just have to make sure that the front, center and rear diffs match. I'm not sure which ones need to be swapped and what exactly needs to be done, sorry.

FYI, there's no way they discontinued the 07 tranny already.

Whoever told you that is silly.

Still, it's a bitchin tranny.

What type of engine are you building?

I have a built ej207 short block...

I want what you have but I have to check my finances. One quick question for you though, why didn't you just buy the '07 5th and 6th gears for ~$400 and have them installed?

SOTC I am building a 10:1, 2.34 long rod motor.

I was told, which I no longer believe, but I am still not 100% sure, that the gears CANNOT just be swapped in. I would need 4th, 5th and 6th they are the only ones that are different. If I can confirm for a 100% that the gears can just be swapped out, then that is what I was planning to do in the future.

I've heard of people doing it on these forums. I'm thinking the PR guys have done it.

Bump.... I've been getting pm's about this, but I was told that they are or are going to discontinue the 07 6 speed, if this is false I apologize. This is just what I was told by a subaru employee. Still got the trans!
