Default WTB valentine 1 radar detector

my birthday is next month, and my gf is looking for something to get me...i told her i would not mind a V1 radar detector. she doesn't want to spend 400 bucks on a radar and since im becoming a police officer, she really thinks its pointless.

but i do want 1...and if anyone has 1 used, or has 1 to sell for cheap, let me knooow!!

So...you're training to be an officer of the law, and you want a device to notify you of other officers so you can stop speeding?

I think I'm with your girl friend on this one Good luck though

lol well its just something i want...i am not a speed freak but i do like knowing i have a radar detector..

i have seen a few threads about getting a nice mount to put above your rear view mirrow and hard wiring it and stuff, and i like that, i think its pretty sick.

i know i could do that with any radar, but it seems like the v1 has got a lot of good ratings, and if i can find 1 for cheap, i'll go for it.

Get the 8500, I have one and it is great. Especially for that price, you can't go wrong.

The Escort is one of the highest rated detectors. When I got it I was trying to choose between that or the Valentine One. Now I don't use a radar detector anymore cause I got a wife who yels when I speed. It works even better for preventing speeding tickets.

I added WTB to your title to clear it up.

When you become an officer, you can look up my last ticket (86 in a 55) that I received in 1987. Then I bought a Valentine. I now own 2. Note the first sentence in this paragraph again.

My opinion on the V1 or Escort is that the Escort has better range, but the V1 had the arrows. I have an Escort and love it, saved me numerous times.

my v1 has saved me tons...just update it and react to most of the signals and you will be fine...it usually catches speed traps 1/4 - 1/2 mile out which is plenty of time to slow down

My girlfriend bought me a v1 direct from the website so it had the warranty and update service and all that for my birthday, so I would suggest a new girlfriend, haha.
