ok i have been consuming alot of oil latley .

around 10 qts since my last oil change 3 months ago.

all my spark plug gaskets are leaking but i doubt that its whats causeing so much loss.

no other visable leaks or oil in the coolant.

i ran a vaccum test and a dry compression test .

compression checked out at

cyl#1 160
cyl#2 170
cyl#3 170
cyl#4 168

and here is the vaccum test

im now at a loss . next?

Default possible explination...

you may have lost cam timing. jumping a tooth on the crank will yield a combination of symptoms: low compression and a jumping needle. Checking the timing will diagnose a jumped crank or trigger side intake timing flaw but to completely check the timing you have to remove the front timing covers on both sides. No need to check the crank position or the timing side intake, as they would throw the timing off. crank the engine over to line up the marks on the timing side camshaft then inspect the other marks. If you need more help than this just ask and I can give you more explanation.

oil could be leaking from the front main seal which would explain the jumped cam timing too.

im accually seeing higher compression than most other 2.5 n/a's .

im definatly not leaking oil from the front seal. i see no oil anywhere , i even took my hand and rubbed it over the usual suspects .

a timing issue may be the culprit because the dial seems to be a little more jumpy than just valve overlap . but it could just be that thats making it jumpy, valve overlap.

i will have to check the cam timing .

thank you for your positive and informative opinion!
