Mcchip VW Golf GTI VI with 252HP to Premiere at Tuning World Bodensee

In addition to the engine software upgrade, Mcchip's tuning proposal for the 2009 VW Golf GTI also includes a sport suspension kit from H&R that brings the hot hatch a few inches closer to the ground as well as beefier 19-inch alloy wheels in a black finish from OZ plus a set of 'racing-stripes' available in various colors.

Outclassed on a track/auto-x course, but as a daily driver, I have to respectfully disagree. As it happens, 100% of my driving is not on a track or autox course.

I agree. VW's are very, very good daily drivers. Not so good at auto-x and the like. I'm sure if VW was more concerned with a/x and road racing they'd build a car to suit it better. Then people would complain that it's too noisy and too rough.

The GTI easily out"class"es anything else in the sport compact segment, and by a landslide. Agree they could/should have made it a bit faster for the mkVI. And I have no intention of ever buying one until I know for a fact that the reliability concerns are completely gone. VW-fanboys tried to convince me back in like 2005 that the "new" mkV wouldn't have any of those problems since it was made in Germany, but I've still heard far too many owners say they had some problem or another. By contrast my 05 WRX has 80K miles on it and the only two times it's seen a shop were for it's scheduled tune-ups. And it's been Stage 2 since 10K miles.
