Default Possible ECU issue

I was left high and dry on my 02 wrx cause it was flashed with the ecutek software. I couldn't find another 02 wrx ecu so I picked up an 04 ecu instead. plugged right in and was tuned open source. things ran fine for a while then I started getting p0304 just about everyday now. I've done compression test, both hot and cold, but not a leak down test. the reason I didn't do that yet was cause I only get that code when the engine is cold(sitting for a while). Once the car is warm, no codes or idle issues. she runs just fine, only when its cold the problem is there. I tried the coil pack swap, the injector swap, cleaned the maf, new fuel pump and filter and check all the grounds. For a while I thought I had a vacuum leak, but I haven't been able to find any yet. I am stumped.... is it possible its the ecu doing this? I'm trying to find out if I need a new 02 ecu or not

yeah it wouldnt be like goodspeed to throw a 02 map on an 04 ecu lol
. . .
hmm

maybe fuel rails are gunked up and once the motor warms up the flow corrects it self?

if it were spark plugs it would be all the time so not tht. . .

it would be lame as hell to get a new ECU just to find out that wasnt the problem.

just my luck! since my car doesn't misfire everyday, i thought i would have luck and drop it off at goodspeed for some data logging. well.... nothing happened. they logged the car and it ran fine. and of course, it misfired the next morning. i purchased a tactrix cable so i can log it myself to find out whats happening when its misfiring. this is getting kinda old now

thats what i thought too. i guess the 2.0's aren't all that different. the 04 has an extra fuel circuit that the 02 didn't have. that was disabled during the tune. but i'm still chasing this damn misfire. can't wait for my tactrix cable so i can log this problem

does anyone know of a knowledgable open source tuner that can go over my tune? i would hate to pay full price to see if something is wrong with my tune to find out there is nothing wrong. oh yeah, the car doesn't misfire unless its cold. so i would need to meet them somewhere or have them come to me(food or beer?) to check it out. driving to meet this person would cause the misfire to go away. i'm looking to log some startups this weekend i hope too
