Default process west vs sti tmic

does any one know the conclusion to this.. i saw the link where some one got it and returned it saying it didn't seem to be worth it for the price compare to the usdm sti tmic.... i want to upgrade my tmic but i want one that would have a prefect splitter and fitment with the hood scope on a 07 wrx ... for the price of process west i can get a spearco or aps, but ive also see conflicting info on the tmic as where they are so thick that it takes them much longer to cool and also there are no after market solution for a splitter or even bellows for these big tmics ... my future plans would be to run a 20g or simillar turbo size so if i get a tmic i want one that would allow me to run something like that... i was interested in process west because of the way it has perfect fitment but i cant find any info anywhere if it allows you to run a bigger turbo than a vf39 but be efficient so any help would be great at this point because i am very confused.

The Process West TMIC is the BEST TMIC in the history of the world, it gets NO FINER than that one. If you asked Bill Gates, Corky Bell, and Shirley "Cha Cha" Muldowney to design a Subaru TMIC, theirs would end up being within 1% of the PW unit.

It's definitely the most baller of all TMICs as well. It's what I was going to go with, until I went to the dark side. It gets no better than the PW.

You could run TWO 20g turbos through it. Sarcastic comments only get served on Sunday around here. I would take my FMIC off my car and chuck it into a ditch if Kevin from Process West sent me a FMIC for my car.....I'm hoping he's reading this and ponders the youtube advertising value of this statement.

AMR makes one with some great features that others dont have, APS, who has an AMAZING reputation when it comes to intercoolers, makes the largest (in terms of volume) TMIC. ARC makes the best tube and fin design aftermarket TMIC. Many tuners swear by the tube and fins cooling abilities over bar and plate. Do some research, dont just assume the PW is the "best in the world" becuase one guy says so. The truth is on a 20g the STi one will be fine, and anything aftermarket with a decent reputation will be perfectly okay.

i agree with your comments, the only problem is that p west is pretty much the only after market company that has a complete kit.. ive read allot about the tmics and from what i get is that A- they are too thick so they retain more heat which makes sence to me and B- none of them come with a splitter and no other after market splitter creats a perfect seal with either spearco or aps, i dont about arc and if there is such a thing for it but even thats where i draw the line and can't and wont spend close to 2k for a intercooler... so here you have a large tmic and nothing around to use it at a 100% efficiency .. so thats why i think i am going to go with p west.. the only reason i started this was to know if the p west is more efficent than a sti tmic and if its worth buying

by the way what does AMR has that others don't?

damn never mind i saw what it has more... seems like a really nice IC is there a splitter thats a perfect fit for it? this would be for a 07 wrx

I personally havent seen too many people running high hp cars running a pw tmic but theres def 30r and 35r cars running around with sperco tmic.....iam sure any quailty tmic will be fine w/ a 20g but if your on a budget i would pick up a used sperco

yeah there are not easy to find.. but ive decided to go p west.. i agree with the comment that a 4.5 inch thick tmic is going to retain heat, and also none of the big ones come with a proper fitting air splitter with bellows... now i know making bellows is not that hard but when you spend close to a 1000$ (spearco, aps.... etc) none of them have this except p west and even if it wont flow as much as the other ones atleast ill be using the tmic at 100% efficiency where with the other ones you wont.

way more money for a front mount, i am going with a vf39 setup for now and needed a bigger tmic, and there is a good chance il go to a 20G or something that size later so front mount would be too much lag for these turbos.. anyway i am ordering the p west...btw what did you do for a splitter? and which tmic are you running?

I'm seriously considering going with a PW for my S256 build i'm working on. I was looking at the AMR but I hear lots of good things about the PW. I know the S256 big enough that alot will say go FMIC but I live in Alaska and will be running meth so I think I'll be fine.
