Default HELP! 07' 2.5i swap

I have a 07' 2.5i I got for next to nothing.
I have read and researched other people looking to do this but I dont care if its going to depreciate in value or cost too much.
I havent been able to find much of anything performance on this car. I was looking to possible swap a wrx motor onto my 2.5i. Has anyone done this yet? and what am I looking at getting myself into?
I am also wondering what it would involve throwing a turbo kit onto my stock 2.5i engine.
If Its truely a horrible idea to swap a new motor, then what would you do to boost some power?
Also, my stock exhaust is embarrasing to say the least. What could I do to put an aftermarket pipe on?
Im looking to ad some fat HP haha.
This is my first suby and I just wana get my hands dirty. Thanks

There's a ton of info regarding the 2.5i. Info about upgrading internals, why intakes don't do much, why changing exhaust doesn't do much and more. Search the NA forum and read. Start with the white paper on NA power.

The NA engine isn't built to handle boost, so don't boost it. If you want a faster car in a straight line, you should have bought something else. If you want a faster car in the corners, spend good money on suspension, wheels, and tires.
