Default 2000 Subaru 2.5RS 2D

I'm looking to get a car and I saw this really nice 2000 2.5 RS. It has 106,000 miles and its in pretty good shape. The dealership is asking $11,000 for the car. Considering this is a fairly rare car, what price should I start bargaining for this car?

This price is more in line with what you should be looking to spend. A dealer will never sell that low though. I'd say somewhere around $6K would be fair, and thats if its in good shape. If it needs work (timing belt, water pump, HEADGASKETS!) then I would drop the price from there.

Again, it all depends on condition and location of the car. The further west and south you go, the more the price will go up because there is less chance of body rot.

go check my forsale thread. u can have my 98 2door with a jdm wrx ra swap, for the right price. i have it forsale or trade. it is a very very fun and fast 2 door 5mt. it is a great feeling having a turbo swap in a light car. also i have the ver 5/6 front end instead of the ugly 98 front end still on there. pm me if u want or interested.

hey, the 2 door is sick i know, i just got my 2000 2.5rs 2 door with 2 year old paint and 150k miles and new tires and sti struts, eibach springs apexi N1 full exhaust jdm side skirts and splats from a private seller for 3.4k if you really want that one go for it i wouldnt offer more then 8k, the dealer will want to get rid of it sooner or later. i personally would wait for another one to show up, from a private and get a hella good deal. it will happen, its all up to you and how long you want to wait

There are better deals to be had on the forums. RS25.com is great for GC's, especially the coupes.

I bought my car from a dealer and paid about what they offered you, but that was back in 2004 on a car with under 80k miles on it.

EDIT: KBB says a 2000 RS in "Excellent" condition with 106,000 has a dealership retail value of about $7,100. If you really want the car, bring that info to the dealership and point out any flaws the car has that would keep it from being considered "excellent." Don't get screwed!

8700 on 100K miles on the car is over priced...i think...
My buddy bought a 02 wrx w/ 70K for 12000 last year...

It's hard to compare the WRX to the GC RS because the RS is pretty rare. Some people will mark up the price because of that. Though I did buy a 2001 RS for my wife last year for $6,000 with 90k on it. It was even a California car so it was perfect, looked brand new inside and out. There wasn't any rust underneath at all, like if I just drove it off the lot.
