Default Is my clutch slipping? or something else?

ok well i have been noticing for the past few months that if i am going up an on ramp and i get to 4th before i get into traffic, if i try to get on it a little to speed up, my RPM's will jump
if i get on it with more throttle, it will jump up really fast and climb
if i go slow, it jumps up a little, then comes back down, then back up a little, then back down
i dont see how it can be my clutch slipping seeing as how it was replaced either 15k miles before dan had the car or 15k before i got the car, and it just turned over 100k today
and im not dumb, i know how to drive
so what do you think it is?
it doesnt happen in other gears, maybe fifth but i have never tried it
1 2 and 3 are just fine, nothing wrong with them

oh btw its a stage 1 clutch

Yeah its going out. Thats what happened when mine went out! I had an OEM clutch go out after about 15K. Only launched like 4 times and I let some dumb girl drive it once and she rode the crap out of it.

thats what im thinking happened
my friend is thinking of buying a subie, and was looking at a WRX
so my dumbass let her drive it, and she couldnt drive the stage clutch for crap
she would rev it to like 4500 rpms while slooooooowly letting out the clutch
and her shifts were horrible
that is probably what made it go out more than anything now that i think about it....god damnet

so do i need a new clutch and new flywheel?

you could prolly just get the flywheel resurfaced if it needs it

It depends, you can get the flywheel resurfaced. But you will for sure need a clutch.
EDIT: Need to respond sooner before people steal my answers lol

resurface the flywheel no matter what. you can also just buy a new disc, you dont have to replace the pressure plate. But it would be a wise decision to just buy a stage2 clutch kit.

if you go stage 2 the clutch will last alot longer and youll have a better clutch if you do do more power mods just saying its be more wise

I honestly dont like lightened flywheels, the inertia carried by the heavier flywheel is greater than that of the lighter flywheel. In a practical example, you can notice the difference durring a launch. You will not need to rev as high to launch with a heavier flywheel. The rotating mass of the heavier one is harder to stop than that of the lighter one. when running boost, the heavier flywheel will keep your rpms high and thus keep you spooling more durring gear changes

To be honest you will be perfectly fine running a stock clutch. Aftermarket stage2 clutches are not going to last as long as a factory one, being that they are being slipped more because they are harder to drive and the engagement is rougher.

If your not planning on big power then stock will be fine and will also be very nice to DD.

I had an ACT streetlite clutch and flywheel in my car. It was kinda loud but was easy to drive after i was used to it.

thats what i was thinking, just an OEM one
the MOST i ever plan to do would be a evoIII 16G + supporting mods, but ill be suprised myself if that ever happens
i really doubt ill ever get close to that

so stock clutch/flywheel?

If you have a stock flywheel in your car right now and there is enough room to have it resurfaced then you can do that. I think an OEM clutch kit is around 500 bones. It would easly hold the power levels you want.

Neither, get a street disk. Fastest way to destroy your tranny is use a stock tranny with any puck type disk.
