Default Cobb Exhaust for 2.5RS

I'm looking for any input on the exhaust offered by Cobb Tuning for the 2.5RS. I remember they used to use the Stromung with their power packages and now they have their own Cobb branded exhaust system. I like the looks of the Cobb more than the Stromung, nice and simple like a scoobysport, but I was just wondering how it sounds and how it feels from people that have it. Thanks for the input.

Really? It seems looking through this forum that Injen and Cobb's are the two top intakes, with WeaponR being on the other side of the list and the others being in between.

Also, Injen seems to have a good rep outside of the scooby world (and the filter is in a nice position, in front of the wheel well) and Cobb's is a PRM filter which has a not-the-best rep outside scooby world. At least from what I've heard.

You have other experiences?

Seems to me that the injen intake is popular with WRX owners.

How's the weather in Utah? If it's rainy/snowy at all you'll probably find rust on even the Stainless Stromungs. I'd stay away from them at all costs. Do a search on Stromung and rust...

Here is a sound clip of just the cobb intake. When I get the exhaust I will post again. This is just an engine revving sound clip. I think you should be able to right click on the link and save the file to your hard drive.

I am almost positive Stromung makes Cobb's exhausts. THe Cobb intake is the only one to get. It is simply the best.

That's unfortunate news.

When I first heard about the Stromung, I seriously considered buying one. Now I'm glad I didn't. Even with the Stainless models it seems that the only way to keep them rust-free is to not use them in anything but bone dry climates.

It looks like if I go turbo I'm going with a Scoobysport exhaust.

If your gonna go turbo why would you want a 2.25 in exhaust system? I would suggest a 2.5 or 3 in from the turbo back...

They used to, but I'm sure they don't now.

I agree. 2.5" should be the minimum for turbo, but not to big for NA. I'd get the Brullen 2.5"

Cobb's bespoke header isn't ready yet, else you would have heard a huge uproar on the board. If you read what their page says, its the Borla header and Stromung exhaust. Always has been.

Historically they sold a Borla header and Stromung exhaust in their power packages (and seperately).

But they've been working on their own products to sell from what I've heard. So it's no longer a third party part. Unless of course Stromung is just building some pipes for Cobb to relabel.
