Default question about removing cats.

no not the "meow meow" kind okay heres the deal. i have a 02 2.5ts, and i want to have one or both cats cut out, and straight pipe run to the muffler, which is a straight through universal muffler. the local muffler shop does this for like $30. can anyone give me any recommendations on this, such as diameter of pipe, and if i should cut out just one or both cats. plus, are there any reasons i SHOULDNT do this? and about CEL's will i be setting them off, and is there an easy cheap way to make them not go off?

Probably not going to gain much power.

Save the environment..blah blah blah..

Go with a high flow cat or something.

And oh yea, 2.25" is the standard "ideal" size for our engines.
