Default MINI to Launch John Cooper F1 Limited Edition

Quote:
MINI will be producing a very limited edition JCW just in time for the 50th anniversary of John Cooperís first F1 car. Itís taken a few weeks but weíve now verified the rumor (first reported by theswitchback) from several sources across the globe. Expect the car to feature the JCW drivetrain, aerokit and some exclusive F1 badging throughout the car.

But the most obvious exclusive feature of the car will be non-metallic British Racing Green exterior paint paired with the pepper white roof and mirrors.

We can also exclusively report that the first pre-production F1 was completed earlier this week at the Oxford Plant and was quickly spotted due to itís exclusive paint color. We expect this very car to appear at MINI United but in a very special exclusive unveiling not tied to the Camden and Mayfair special editions.

Itís unclear in what markets we should expect the F1 but with quanities as low as 50-100 units donít be surprised if some major markets miss out.

Look for more information in the coming days.

Make it RWD and 300HP and I'd buy one for my wife.

So it's around $45,000 or so?
I like that green better than the darker one used on MINIs now.

Yep, BRG looks great on that thar German car. One of the best things about BRG is that there's no standard for BRG.

I gotta admit.. if they had that non-metallic BRG when I was ordering my MINI... i would have definitely gone for that color... something about the metallic BRG is ugly.

I hate it when "special edition" = cosmetic changes/badges, unless the JCW powertrain means something more that the usual JCW mechanical bits.......

Default Mini JCW F1 Edition revealedÖ unoficially

Quote:
Few weeks ago we spoke about the limited version of the Mini JCW F1 which celebrates the 50th anniversary of John Cooperís first F1 car. This is the first photo with the new vehicle which carries 211 hp, a special JCW F1 badging, new aero kit and British Racing Green paintjob. According to our sources, the manufacturer intends to build only 250 cars so, if you want one youíd better hurry and put your name on the small list!

Hell 250hp rwd would be plenty. But this car handles great as a fwd car. Street legal go-kart.

This is probably the dumbest statement I've read today....

The idea that you've even attempted to make a Mini/Mustang model comparison is

Very nicely styled mini and the color choice is great, deep flat colors are the way to go with the MINI imo, more traditional. I have only had the oportunity to drive one of these zippy things once but it made an impression, very nice vehicle.

Is he really wrong? They're really just variants of each other. It might have a different name, but it's not much of a different relationship physically with each other than something like the Tundra lineup, whether it's the two-door, super cab or crew cab with either the short bed or long bed... essentially the same, just with a different length and door count. The Tundra and Tacoma on the other hand are completely different vehicles, I don't think the same applies to the Cooper and Clubman.
