PWN3D Nissan GT-R versus a FWD Focus??

http://autocar.co.uk/VideosWallpaper...AR=239816&CT=V

No, not that Focus... this Focus...

The Euro Focus RS.

Nissan GT-R vs Ford Focus RS

And guess which one they liked better?!

Here's a hint: It ain't the one with Twin turbos, AWD and roughly 500hp.

Now before all the GT-R fanboys get all hot around the collar, watch the video and realize that it is a fairly light-hearted look at these 2 cars. Ultimate performance numbers aren't compared, nor do they really matter. They purposefully stacked the deck against the GT-R by placing it on some narrow, tight, winding backroads and ended up liking the Focus better.

That focus is bad ass. I would sell unclemat into slavery to get my hands on one.

Good review. Reminds me of when Clarkson took the STI and Evo out on the roads like that. And dear god, the GTR is sultry in red.

I am actually pretty surprised the GTR couldnt shake the RS... It would seem like the acceleration and braking the GTR boasts would have it run from the RS fast, driver error comes into play big time when I consider it.

Anyone hating on the focus must not be watching WRC. Subaru isn't even competing this year, nor have the been competitive in years past. You can argue budget until your blue in the face, but the fact remains. the impreza platform has not been competitive on snow, dirt, gravel, tarmac for some time now.
look at solberg, he gets in a three year old citrone xara and is right up in the front again, subaru isn't competitive, they are just chasing some budget M3 pipe dream (I'm not complaining, I am glad to pass M3's on the track). I'd take a focus rs if max performance were the ONLY consideration too.

I love the Focus RS, always have...wish they had them here.

While I would obviously take the GTR first, the Focus is still a damn nice ride, and I love the look of that car.

except the european Mk 2 focus is a vastly better car than your aforementioned Neon or the US Mk1 Focus, so what exactly is your point? That the focus RS is a much better version of an already really good car?

ford is doing the correct 'bold moves' haha im liking everything there doing (fiesta, Taurus, new Focus) and all this while not taking a dime of tax payer money WOOT!

Probably because we have Muscle Mustang fans running the company who believes in old fashion hp burning rubber thru the live axle with 1/4 mile potentual cars vs a good handling well balanced car.

^^That and probably something to do with emissions and import tax. Although, I don't see why ford could not just produce the same car here.

Because a Focus RS would have destroyed a Mustang and in America, that's a bit of a no-no

I'm sure the Focus is clean enough to pass emissions... import tax...maayybee.. but they can always just produce the platform here...

I don't think the GTR had any trouble "shaking" the RS (despite what they said in the video). Just look at the sharp uphill corner exit in the video. The RS is spinning it's wheels and the GTR is gone. The guy driving the GTR was blaming the traction control... which I'm pretty sure can be deactivated. I've got a bumpier, windier road near my house that limits the speeds you can go because of the bumps.. but putting the power down in the STI with the traction control off is no problem. Sure, there might be a little wheel spin here and there.. but that's what the diffs are for.

The point was that the RS was more fun.. which isn't surprising. Very often the lighter car is more fun. My Miata is way more fun than my STI... and the '98-01 2.5RS is still the most fun Impreza I've ever driven/owned.
