Post O2 sensor and speed sensor

Hello,
How hard is it to replace an O2 sensor and speed sensor. My speedo has been working intermitently for the past 2 months. My check engine light came on a few days ago. My car is going on tues for Wakefeild to pull the code and check the speed sensor. Are they do it yourself replacements or should this be left for the dealer to do on tues if those turn out to be the problem. Subaru parts.com has both for about $160 shipped overnight while the dealer parts dept told me about $200 and a 5 day wait. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Where is the speed sensor located and what does it look like?
Thanks,
Alain

I just had my 02 sensor replaced at the dealer on Wednesday. Took them about half an hour of labor. One clip, and just unscrew it. Do the clip from the top and unscrew it from the bottom. Make sure the car is cool when you do it otherwise you might have a hard time getting the 02 sensor out of the catalytic converter.

Seca2man,
The O2 sensor is easy as mentioned before. OBD2 cars have 2 O2 sensors, one before the Cat and one after. The code should say. The speed sensor is easy also but make sure the Instrament panel is not messing up or the computer. My speedo screams if the temp is 0-deg or colder. The connection at the back is frigged and getting one from the dealer is a huge political process due to the potential of messin' with the milage. I'm leaving it alone for now cause its warmer now.

Alain: if you can come to kpratte's Garage Day, I can pull the codes for you with the scantool.

Chris: my speedo does the same thing between 0F and 25F. It got so bad one day that the speedo now shimmies a bit below 50 mph at all temperatures, but thankfully it doesn't make that awful sound. When it did, it sure scared the hell out of people who drove it, including the salesman at The Car Store. I guess that scared him a bit about taking my car as a trade-in for a WRX wagon.
