Installing a 02 forester motor in a 2000 impreza RS
I am looking to replace a blown motor with another drop in stock replacement. From what I have read I have EJ251 in the impreza and the 02 forester is the EJ251 as well. IF that is the case then will it just drop right in wire sensors and everything? Sorry for the Noob question I have searched but haven’t found anything and according to Wikipedia as long as I use a 02 forester motor I should be fine. Thanks in Advance

I figured since the EJ251 was used in the 2000 impreza and the 02 forester (got it off of wikipedia) it would just drop in. I posted the same questions on RS25 and they were telling me to swap the cam gears and intake manifold. Intake manifold would be changed out of I was switching from a 251 to a 252 or 253 correct? Not sure about the cam gears though
thanks again |
