Default Blown Rear Wheel Bearing / Hub

hey guys,

I'm drivin' a '93 WRX. Been searching for a while and it it looks this repair job is going to cost me a pretty penny... But since I'm more broke than the bearing itself I need some cheap alternatives...

Does anyone know if there is anything USDM (Leggies, '02 WRX, etc) that have the same knuckle assembly? from the looks of it it might be a cheaper alternative to grab the entire assembly from a junker than getting the bearing fixed/hub replaced.

Remember, I'm completely broke. I don't care if it's not *best* solution. I just need something.

Thanks,

pre-00 legacy or any impreza (non sti) should have compatible hubs. note i say compatible. theres a lot of differences in splines on the hubs between years. i dont know whats on your wrx as far as rear diff, axles, or hubs, but my guess would be 90-96 year range of impreza or legacy with AWD and rear discs would swap over. check for ABS or nonABS as well

jaxx is correct for bolt-up compatibility, however to keep your existing axles youll need to be more specific to your year range to get the # of splines right. they range from 22 to 26 depending on years

EDIT: neeeevermind i was thinking of the splines on the diff side. the hubs are all about the same, they did change in 00 on the legacy which is why for legacies it just goes to 99

Thanks for the info guys,

turns out not even a 25ton press will get the axle out of the hub

anyone know which axles will work? I'm guessing early LSD leggies?

a bearing and seals are less than $100 and you should be able to find a shop that can press them out and in. They are easy to do.

unique as in if you have a mechanical LSD then the axles are different Left vs Right and one side has an extra splined nub on the diff side. hardly any were ever like that so its really hard to find a replacement axle
