Question Help with 2009 Impreza 2.5i Wagon NON TURBO

Hey All,

Well i got my new 09 Impreza 2.5i Wagon Non Turbo in January this year... I love to do upgrades on my car but the problem is I am having a hard time finding performance parts for my car. I would love to have some more HP and better performance all around!
The only thing i have on the car now is:
Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake - (like it)
Cat Back Magnaflow Exhaust - (Not liking it...want something better!)

Any suggestions for more HP/Performance boys and girls? Anything would be helpful!

Thanks
-Kaila

To see the biggest gains on an NA, you're going to have to crack the engine open, or at least the heads. Look into aftermarket camshafts. Also check out the NA forum here on nasioc.

get a lightweight crank pulley, it would help your engine rev faster and give you the impression your car is faster.

also you might want to convert your CAI into a hybrid intake, check out the NA forums for more info

some better springs would make a huge difference in the handeling! those cars have some serious body roll when ya turn em and i would say take care of that first!

Good alignment and good rubber to make full use of it will also help you in the handling department. If they're still putting Bridgestone tires on the 2009, you can do much better (Kumho or Falken for example). As for exhaust, I love my SPT. Some people might say they dislike it, but that's the first modification I did to my WRX and one that I've never had a problem with.

As far as performance goes, I wouldn't touch the engine.

Tuning a turbo has somewhat of a safety margin, but tuning a an NA is like walking on the edge of a sword.

I would say focus on suspension mods and make it a fun DD

I have an '07 2.5i and that's exactly what I've done. Engine is bone stock, just find an axleback that sounds decent without spending $$$, some coilovers, wheels, whatever exterior mods you prefer, and autocross it frequently

^ Coilovers are definitely not necessary, I'd recommend a nice spring/strut combo.

Did the 09 i come with a rear swaybar, the 08 didn't. If not find one from an 08 or 09 wrx owner that has upgraded.

Why did you buy this car instead of a used WRX?
