Default Koyo Radiator: Autozone Fan Direction of Airflow

Surprisingly little information on 25rs and Nabisco about this. I purchased the Koyo Radiator, understood my stock fans and this radiator will not fit. So per recommendation from fellow members, I went out and got these Autozone slim fans (that clamp onto the radiator) and a sticker on the fans indicate the direction of airflow goes forward back into the radiator...

So I guess the few people that have Koyo radiators just wire the fans backwards so they flow in the proper direction?

Actually, no. Rather, I went ahead and took some shots of this disaster. The fans are obviously inadequate and it's a good thing this car will never have to sit in traffic. The 12" fans were $60 each at Autozone and are a few inches smaller in diameter than stock. They require flipping of the blades and wiring polarity in reverse. They are 2 3/4" thick at the center. The mounting hardware is included (zip clamp fastener doohickeys).

Sorry, no answers, but another question..

are you sure those fans would be large enough?

No, in fact I am almost 100% certain that continued use of these fans in the southeast heat with associated bumper to bumper traffic will almost certainly grenade my motor into the next century.

Adding a shrould to the radiator and fans will make a difference. What CFM are the fans? The shrould would also get the fans off the face of the radiator. I have never been fond of that mounting arrangement.

I found this shroud for the WRX application. i am also considering it since I kinda need to move to a slim fan application, but I do not want to compromise the ability of the car to stay cool.

Mishimoto WRX shroud

Not too sure how well it works though... Bolts up to the stock radiator, which leads me to believe that it will work with the Koyo WRX unit also. Perhaps it can be modified to work for your application?
