Default Bmw 3-Series GT coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show

http://www.4wheelsnews.com/bmw-3-ser...rt-motor-show/

Quote:
As you may know already, Bmw is planning to update its 3-Series by 2012 and it appears that the small family will get another member, a GT version inspired by the one from the 5-Series. The new Bmw 3-Series GT will be a combination between an SUV and a station wagon, will offer elevated seating position and will be with 15 inches longer than the standard model. The new model is expected to make its debut at this yearís Frankfurt Motor Show together with the production version of the 5-Series GT, the X1, X6 Hybrid and possibly the 7-Series hybrid. For those who donít know, Bmw is also preparing a 6-Series GT!

You've gotta hand it to BMW -- they're able to offer what is essentially the same car in so many different flavors, ala 911.

NOT including the X3, the new GT model will bring the variant count of the 3-Series to 16.

Interesting X6 or what ever that thing is - was a bit over the top. This 3 series wagon thing - not all that bad. Though I'd be game for one of their more run of the mill every day person 6spd diesel wagons - very nice cars - drive great - get great milege. Not a whole lot to complain about there. BMW needs to get over the whole luxury only thing in the US they make some great cars that fit everyday people budgets - just need to sell them here in the US.+
