Auto-x training and practice track weekend at SLMP, June 27th & 28th, 2009

Back by popular demand!

On June 27th and 28th, the New England Subaru Club, Inc is holding an Auto-x training and practice track weekend at St. Lawrence Motorsports Park in Morristown, NY. SLMP is an oversized go-kart track with enough room for cars to run. Over the two days you will get dozens of sessions on the track to refine existing skills and develop new ones. Fellow drivers (and cones) will be available to help set special courses and drills to assist in the improvement of your driving skills.

-The cost for the entire both Saturday and Sunday is $150, which includes unlimited driving time on the track each day. Payment for the weekend is due up front IN FULL to secure a spot and is considered NON-refundable unless the event gets canceled for any reason. Send a paypal payment to payments@newenglandsubaruclub.com.
-We will be limiting the group to 25 drivers so sign up fast.
-The event is contingent on getting at least 15 drivers.

Track layout:

If you're curious how well cars fit on the go-kart track, you can find videos here from other groups that have gone in the past.

Safety/Tech Restrictions:
-All cars will be subject to a tech inspection.
-Remove all extra 'stuff' from your car that is not bolted in.
-Must have working seat belts
-Drivers and passengers must wear helmets.
-Tires must be DOT approved, with a treadwear over 80 for cars over 2500lbs.
-Brakes should be bled prior to event and should have at least 3/4 pad left.

Where to stay:
Rooms will be booked at the Quality Inn, which is 5 miles from the track. The address is 6765 State Hwy. 37 , Ogdensburg, NY. Please state whether you want in on sharing rooms.

Don't have an exact date yet, but it's pretty important people sign up sooner than later because as the OP says, the event is contingent on getting enough people.

Ohhh, so tempting and such a very reasonable price. It's the massive drive that gets me everytime, but this year I have no excuses. Is camping onsite allowed?

Geebus man, that's a long drive for me and I'm about 2/3 of the way closer

To the OP, how are things scheduled? Is it one car on track at a time? How long is your average track session?

based on previous years, camping is/has been allowed.

usually 2 cars on hot laps at one time. most of the time there is only 1 car out there because people are letting their cars cool down or are resting.

Thanks. If I bring the kart I'd need to camp as it's on an open trailer and could get stolen.

But I'm probably in anyway, just need to check other vacation plans and verify the weekend is still open.
