$18K for a barely modified 2006 WRX!? That's STI money. Also, it's clear the dealer/seller knows nothing about the car and is just fishing words from the Subaru PR material (WRC tuned suspension, etc). The 2006's do not have traction control like the ad states. 275hp? Stock? Not a chance.

There is nothing special about that car at all. A month or so ago, I found a 2006 WRX wagon with 17K miles and the car was immaculate... I'm talking absolutely new and untouched and the dealer was willing to $16.5K. I wasn't impressed, but if your goal was to get an unmollested car, it would fit the bill.

18" alloy wheels? Those are painted stockers. Sort of looks like C-grunt's car, but he still has his I believe.

EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not a bad car, but for a little more money, you could be in an STI. If you can get them down a bit on this, it would likely be OK, but there are a lot of things that can go wrong on an improperly modified WRX and you don't want to deal with it.

I knew a guy who bought a returned to stock 2006 WRX and had a boat load of problems with it including having to replace the trans.

If you're going to buy a used/modified car, at least know the previous owner so you can have some inclination of what they did to the car and how it was maintained. Buying a modded car from a dealer is a recipe for fail.

Also, don't figure the warranty is worth a damn from Subaru.

Anytime you have questions, just post up. We've all got opinions! I'm generally busy, but Brock and I can always go look at potential cars if you're serious. One drive and it will become pretty obvious if something is wrong.

If you can swing it, that 2004 JBP STi is in good condition.

Drive it. Feel the transmission. Make sure it's not grinding. Also look for surging or any crap like that. A poor tune can really mess things up.

the 06 WRX has gauges and a Zero sports intake. My guess is the intake was not tuned for so that could be trouble.

I've stopped to look at that 06 WRX last week in Scottsdale. It's a clean car for sure but the price isn't right.

Considering the original posted car is a TR, a stripped model, and people were getting into those new in the low 20's, plus, the car has almost 50K miles, the price is way out of line.

ps, r0man is the most pretentious chaunch west of the mississippi... one look at his myspace would leave one wondering why though..?? ha

Sigh... you just can't resist, can you? One name TO'd to oblivion, so you create another one, and you're still up to your antics? All the lies I caught you in and pointed out to you, that I still haven't brought into "public" SWIC-land because you're a bit of a bore, and you still need to stir the pot?

I think they call that a personality disorder.

Also, you might ask the dozen or so guys around here that know me, you know, personally, what I'm like instead of coming to a conclusion of a ****ing MySpace, kiddo. Why you're allowed to keep up with this infantile drool you spout, I don't know, but it really makes me question your mental health.

Oh, and it's slightly funny, too. I guess I really burned you. Congrats on the inevitable locking of this thread, though. Awesome way to not suck.

Whatever you say, Sparky. At least there's no need for me to totally misrepresent myself to the world in order to feel important.

Even the fake you is hated by everyone
