Just to let you know, sleeve bearing turbos are supposed to have shaft play, even new.
This is per the Forced performance page.
It makes perfect sense, because the sleeve bearings "float" on oil.
Also, if you want to experiment, you can add some oil through the discharge pipe and see how the play noticeably reduces.
I think what FP specifies is 0.03" max. radial and 0.002" axial.
The axial play (in-out) should not be noticeable or barely noticeable.
The radial play should be quite noticeable.
Don't listen to people that advertise their sleeve bearing turbos (any **G TD0*-**G turbo) with "no shaft play".
For more information, look at the FP page under information.
Also, the whole Blouch VS FP thing makes not much sense, because both have Mitsubishi internals and a Subaru cartridge housing. The compressor cover Mitsu never made and Subaru never made for an Evo3 wheel, so this they cast and machine themselves. This however has nothing to do with how long a turbo lasts.
What I'm saying is that both are great turbos.
Sorry for the hijack and good luck with the sale.

Where do you live and in your opinion what is the condition of the turbo (since you are the second hand owner)?
