Default v6 STi Cluster

okay, i am talking to someone about buying a v6 jdm cluster for my '03 wrx. the only thing i have found on wiring in clusters is for v7 and it appears to be a PITA! so would the v6 be a plug and play in my suby or does it fall under this soldering wiring madness too???

1. it's not designed to fit your dash
2. connecters are different so they won't fit the cluster
3. wiring?

I believe you have to clip a tab and snip some pins? GL you might want to research a bit...

yea, thanks all for the input . i have to go with the v7 but just for the cluster it consists of cutting 1 wire and hooking up the rest. if i want the OAT working, now thats another story and something i probably wont look into at least for a while.

Find a pinout diagram I bet you can find it and make everything work. Or find someone else who has made it work and use their soldering/splicing techniques. GL

well the seller has everything from the v6 to the v8 clusters, so its no big deal. just the v6 was cheaper and thats the one i started on. 25 bucks more and i get the v7. no problem. i have a write up on the v7 also, describing everything to do for just a normal wire-up or if you want to incorporate the use of the OAT sensor.
