Default VW's Limited Edition Golf VI GTI Child Seat

Quote:
ctually, Volkswagen's new Golf GTI child safety seat is unisex but we're sure you get our drift. To be produced in a limited series, VW's new toddler seat blends in perfectly with the Golf GTI's traditional plaid interior theme that's offered as standard equipment. Volkswagen says that the seat has been designed to accommodate children between the ages of three and twelve, just as long as they weigh in between 15 and 36kg (or 33 to 79lbs).

Many do not know this, but Subaru had an STi child seat offered in Japan in the mid to late 1990's. It was really cool. By the time I had kids, I couldn't find it anymore.

Between ages 3 and 12?

Am I reading this right? I can't imagine my parents stuffing me into that at age 12.

That is slick. By the time I have a 3 year old, my GTI will be 8 years old and likely not the primary kid hauler. Plus, the MKVI plaid isn't the same as my MKV plaid.

The current laws in the UK are that children must be a child seat/booster seat until the age of 12.

Does not apply to children above 135 cm (~53 in). Makes a difference.

For comparision, Massachusetts requires child seats until age 8 or 57 in (~144 cm).

Most older kids would just have a booster (just the bottom, no back or sides) that raises them up a bit so the shoulder belt fits properly.
