Default A/F or EGT gauge?

hi all. i have an 03 wrx wagon that is stock. soon i'm going to install a boost, oil pressure, and either an A/F or EGT gauge. my question is which gauge should i get, EGT or A/F? is one better than the other for a turbo car, or do i need both? i may mod the car later on but nothing crazy, maybe another 50 HP or so if that makes any difference.

thanks for the help.

Are you going to tune the car yourself? If so you should invest in an A/F gauge. If you are going to use an off the shelf base map or get a protune, I wouldn't bother with A/F. Neither gauge is "better" than the other, they just tell you different info. Its really a matter of how you choose to use them and your car.

i would not tune the car myself. i would have a pro do it. i just want to monitor the car to make sure it's ok when i go WOT and shut it down if i see something wrong to prevent further damage.

Get an EGT then with your other two gauges and call it a day.

There's a very good chance your tuner would like you to have a Wideband O2 sensor when he tunes it. The WBO2 is also a good monitor for the long term health of your engine. I would strongly prefer the WBO2 over the EGT if I was only going to be able to have one.
