I'm just curious about your injectors from witchhunter, did you have to adjust latencies or anything? I realize its the same injector but just wondering if response was affected, or if it was a bolt in affair with injector scaling? I can see myself doing the same thing in the near future. Thanks

i had a long talk with the Gordon at Witch Hunter about injector latencies. all the latencie is, is the time it takes the injector to energize to full open. it will change with voltage but not with modification. the injector still uses the same coil...

i just scaled my fuel map down by about 30% and put it back on the dyno to check it out...

the injectors are a bolt in job, other than you must have the phase one to phase two injector callors.

Jaxx, are there no bigger TMICs worth upgrading over stock? I prefer TMIC to FMIC if possible.

You can do a custom TMIC from a USDM WRX, but I am not sure if it would be good to 300whp. I do know mine doesn't heatsoak on hard runs yet at 15psi on Robs Tune and some bolt ons.

im curious, does the coil convertion actually improoves the engine in any ways?, taugh it was just a replacement thing when u need new ones.

well it improves the likely hood that the coil is working .. the old ones are .. well .. old and fail unpredictably

don't the ej20g internals become somewhat iffy @ around 350whp especially with the cast pistons in the wrx model?

I was always under the impression that the G series had forged internals + oil squirters? hence the impressive numbers on stock internals...

hey just trying to bring this back to life as im am finaly heading back to the US and going to order some parts. Here is my current list of mods:
1995 EJ20G
ARC TMIC
Apexi intake
Megan racing TBE no cats
Greddy profec II boost controller set at .9 bar low 1.1 bar high

What is the ECU that everyone recomends? Would a VF22 be enough turbo to support 300-350AWHP? If not suggestions please. What injectors should i look at? If you have a favorite for any reason let me know. I will be installing a Walbro fuel pump soon. Any more advice is good and with the turbo i just want a drop in turbo or one that requires very little moding to install. thanks again for your help

What do you think they put in the current WRX? The 20Gs got thermal flow pistons like the 2.2t. They are denser and stronger than high pressure cast pistons though still not a forged unit but beefy in its own right.

Hey Robert,

Check out this link about the different VF's:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1141476

With the VF22 it's more likely to net around 270ish with some support like larger than 565cc injectors, fuel pump, TMIC (not sure how the arc is since I'm used to state side stuff.) Always could run some meth and that will surely help. I had a friend who made just over 300whp with meth, TD05 20G on a 04 WRX 2.0L and tuning of course. Overall...it's possible but if you were going over 300whp I'd probably go for something other than a VF series. Definently speak with whoever your tuner will be and he should know

Thanks,

Well heres how its going to look now for mods,

Rob's tune
550 STi injectors
Walbro
TD-05 stock
Apexi intake
ARC TMIC
Greddy PRofec B spec II EBC (Low 12PSI High 16-18ish not sure discussing with Rob)
Megan racing TBE (Catless)
Possibly Meth been heavely considering it

I will hit the Dyno before installing my Tuned ECU, 550's, Walbro and meth? Next day I will do my install except for meth. How far do you need to drive to fully reap the benifets of a tune does it need so many miles to 100% register or anything? Then i will re-Dyno to see what my gains where and post those. And then I will toss the idea for meth around again and my turbo choice as well.
